Deathroez (William Brown) is an LA - based producer, drummer, and DJ originally hailing from Asheville, NC. As a lifelong student of music, he has cultivated a sound that is both aggressive and exotic, pulling influences from dubstep, extreme metal, cinematic orchestral, psybient, and world music. "The project is inspired by key life experiences I've had, the moments where I was stretched mentally and emotionally to became something new and leave my old self behind to die. It is an attempt at putting the pain and turmoil of those experiences to a soundtrack, to move, heal, fight, and grow stronger to. I hope that those who listen can connect in some way and be moved." Each Deathroez record has a unique art piece designed by legendary artist Kacper Gilka @kacpergilkaart. The two collaborate through each piece to fully capture the energy and vision of the record. The art is rooted in fantasy, horror, folklore, and psychedelia, capturing an aesthetic that is terrifying, hallucinatory, and mysterious. A fan of fantasy/sci fi movies and novels growing up, William indulges his younger self here with a bizarre series of images to unsettle the viewer as much as to draw in and entice. Kacper's ability to make tangible the Deathroez visual story is spectacular and inspired. It's very exciting to see these two artists working together!
