My name is Bruce Shields, and I sign my work under the artist name B. A. Shields.
I find inspiration for my books in many places. I have traveled to Downtown Flint, where I was born, Detroit, and Northern Michigan, which influence my creative style and process. I specialize in and focus on Science Fiction and Post-Apocalyptic stories. However, I am in the process of writing a science fiction space exploration novel. I also enjoy writing short stories and novellas.
My art style is Plausible fiction with a focus on relationships between characters. I am motivated by my life growing up in Flint and movies like Mad Max. I have been writing for 12 years. My favorite artist is a tie between Ray Bradbury and H. G. Wells. I find their work to be incredibly imaginative yet completely believable! I connect with the community through social media, book signings, and events. My work is currently available in bookstores and on Amazon.
When people read my work, I hope they experience an out of control world where they feel the stress and anxiety trying to survive while protecting the ones they love.
