Yaf Sparkle Boutique was created out of the desire to provide an environment where fun, fashion and pleasure are combined as one. During the summer of 2012, after successively making a name in New York's close-knit Jewelry scene for over a decade, Yaf Boye-Flaegel realized that the next logical step in her career was to fulfill her dream and cut the leash of employment. In order to enjoy true creative freedom in forging her signature style, she chose the Lower East Side, also referred to as "the next SoHo", as a home to her first brick and mortar store. Her boutique now features not only her own designs but also displays the work of almost a dozen designers, from young local talent to internationally renowned brands.
However, the stylish boutique stands for more than just fashion. "Yaf Sparkle" was initially created in the early 2000's as a mere side project out of the desire to raise funds for good causes. Witnessing her father in his efforts to support the ones in need throughout her whole life, Yaf felt it was time to step up and chip in. Trunk shows in her friends apartments became her weekend pastime and the amount of donations collected grew slowly but steadily. To this day, ten percent of Yaf Sparkle Jewelry’s net proceeds go to supporting non-profits, most notably the ASB Foundation which Yaf founded in 2007. The ASB Foundation is an international humanitarian organization which supports the growth and development of the children in Koutal, Senegal, a small village created in 1968 to house people with leprosy and their families. Their ultimate goal is to enrich the lives of these children who have been affected by their parents’ disease.
