About

In our wildest dreams, we never thought that a passion for swimming and an illness would bring about the creation of the WinnieJo Clothing Brand.

In 2018, I found myself unable to walk and unable to swim. After a year of being misdiagnosed, at the age of 14, I was finally told that I was battling a bone tumor in my ankle. No longer able to compete in my sport, I was forced out of the pool and into hospital beds. Out of the storm that hoovered over me and my family, grew a bond with my mom that would lead the two of us on an incredible journey.

My Mom, Sandra, a former competitive swimmer and USA Swimming coach, took time away from coaching to help me heal. In those quiet, difficult hours in waiting rooms and doctor's offices, we worked hard designing fun products to keep swim girl styling in and out of the pool.

Today, the WinnieJo Team continues to collaborate with swimmers to create original designs. All creations are designed by swimmers for swimmers in WinnieJo's hometown of Austin, Texas. We love incorporating our unique city and its laid-back vibe to all our designs. And for me, I am excited to tell you that I’m feeling great and back in the water with my friends and amazing coaches.
