Hey there everyone, Michelle here!

Here’s a little tid-bit of why I’m doing what I’m doing. After my father’s diagnosis with cancer, we took several trips as a family to create some valuable memories to hold onto. With each trip, my dad and I both became more and more enamored by travel, and I could see that he regretted not traveling sooner. This left my heart heavy, and after losing him to this monstrous disease, I learned that there’s absolutely no better time than now to do the things you want to do.

In my now, travel is what I want to do. After college I started working in a 9-5 job and after one year noticed that the everyday grind was sucking the life out of me. Society has this pressure to rush right from high school to college to grad school to working full-time. But where’s the time to explore? I realized that I was heading down a path not for me and I wanted something different, but had no idea what this “something different” was. So I pulled back the reins, quit my job, and booked a flight to Europe with a case of wanderlust: a strong desire to travel and explore the world to understand one’s existence. Now was the time to do what I wanted to do.

The beautiful thing is that in using travel to search for my passions, I found that my passion is travel itself. So in turn, I created the WanderlustWalk site/Instagram to capture the beauty of the world I walk through and to reflect on the lessons, perspectives, and experiences that my case of wanderlust leads me to. Most importantly, I hope to help others realize it’s okay to not have it all figured out right now. Get out there, fill your life, get lost a little, find new ways, play with spontaneity, make something of your journey, let yourself evolve and become more multi-dimensional, go on a wanderlust walk.
