The VORTEX is a 501(c)3 non-profit live theatre company established in Austin in 1988. In addition to creating award-winning, experimental performing arts productions, we are home to The Butterfly Bar and to a nationally certified butterfly sanctuary. We also share space with Patrizi's, one of Austin's top-rated Italian food trucks. Our commitment to zero waste has earned us recognition as a City of Austin Platinum Green Business every year since 2015.
