Bio

Ron Russell is co-owner/chef of the famous SunCafe Organic raw & cooked plant-food restaurant in Studio City-Hollywood. Suncafe has received 18 culinary awards including being named 1 of the Top 10 Restaurants in Los Angeles & Orange County by OpenTable. Ron works with Dr. Dean Ornish's UCLA cardiology clinic--Suncafe is the only restaurant in Los Angeles Dr. Ornish sends his patients to.

Ron has taught 400+ weekly healing, plant-based cooking classes featuring his own unique world fusion cuisine, in a 15-minute gourmet recipe format. Thousands have taken his classes and he has been featured on a dozen TV shows including ABC News, KTLA, Fox, in addition to the NY Times.

For more than 40 years, Ron has lived and advocated a healthy, whole foods, vegan lifestyle for optimum health. His Instagram accounts include TheVegansClub, TheVegansClubTV, VegansFoodRecipes & VeganChefRon

PHILANTHROPY: Ron has worked with Boy's and Girl's Club of L.A. on several projects. Done multiple fundraisers for Farm Sanctuary, Linda Blair's WorldHeart Foundation dog sanctuary, Beagle Freedom Project, and the Humane Society; in addition to donating food to many causes including Animal Rights Museum, Mercy for Animals, and others.

MISSION: Ron's goal is to radically improve the world--the world of health, the world environment, while reducing suffering of animals and humans through the power food.

A creative soul, Ron is a long time writer with a published novel, a produced play and several screenplays in development. His artwork has been shown in museums and galleries. In college, Ron majored in music composition and he continues to compose.
