About

Out of a desire to consume fashion that was ethically produced, our founder, Dani, created Tinta, an ethically made clothing brand that embraces tattoo aesthetics and Latine culture (Tinta means "ink" in Spanish!). Here's what she has to say:

"I wanted to be able to wear clothing that fit my personal style without feeling like my morals were being compromised. I love tattoo-inspired apparel, but almost every brand I found wasn't transparent about how they were producing their garments. In addition to being sweatshop-free and sustainable, I wanted Tinta to be a celebration of latinidad. My Latin American heritage has always been super important to me and I wanted to integrate the beauty de mi cultura into the fabric of Tinta. Tinta takes a little from here, a little from there and creates something beautiful -- being the child of an immigrant feels a lot like that."


We believe you should be able to shop guilt-free, trusting that no one has been harmed in the production of our products which is why all of Tinta's house brand apparel is produced in partnership with suppliers who are WRAP certified, union shops, or local mom and pop business. This means that our garments are produced in sweatshop free environments -- no exceptions. Our designs are then printed in-house to ensure both quality and ethical labor standards are being met. In addition to our house-brand apparel, Tinta offers beautiful upcycled goods that are either painted by hand or studded (or a combination of both!) by Dani herself! This is awesome because you get an eco-friendly one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art!
