What's your aesthetic...?

We're Leanne and Jon, founders of The New Aesthetic. A couple of years ago, we were working in our full-time jobs as graphic designers and content writers respectively, running a little side hustle on Etsy. Our products largely revolved around pop culture, but as our sales continued to increase and as demand grew for a larger range of items, we decided to take our hobby full-time, quitting our jobs and launching our own website in Spring of 2018.

At the same time as handing in our notices for our jobs and launching The New Aesthetic, we also set off on an extended trip around Hong Kong and Japan. Our adventures filled us with inspiration, from the contrast of bright city lights to the beauty of natural areas such as Kushiro and Kyoto...and not to mention the food! We decided that we wanted to capture this feeling of inspiration, by creating a range of products as a homage to travelling - even when we're at home, we're dreaming of the next getaway, and our products serve as a fun reminder of that.

Another thing that we noticed while long-term travelling is just how important it is to remain comfortable whilst also looking great. This is why our designs are printed onto soft, breathable cottons (sustainably sourced, of course, and printed with vegan inks!); as well as looking great whilst walking the city streets or strolling down the beach, we want our customers to feel great, too - be that when flying, layering up with our sweaters, or keeping it simple in one of our tees.

While clothing is the main branch of our business, we also sell a range of homeware items, such as cushions, posters and mugs. Elsewhere, we sell greetings cards for a range of different occasions and for a wide range of audiences. You can find out more about these products by visiting our website and heading to their respective collections, but for the time being, we're looking to grow the clothing side of our business - this is where you come in.

Naturally, we want our customers to love our items, and we believe that influencers could play a great role in spreading the good word - but only if you love our products, too! We want to work with travel influencers, foodies, nature lovers and the like to help get our products out there, but it's super important to us that you actually love what we have to offer. We're adding new items to our store every week, so if there's an item you love and that you think your audience will love, too, just let us know. We're also open to suggestions - perhaps there's a product you've dreamed of bringing to life, but haven't yet had the resources? Whether you want to represent our brand by wearing one of our products, or if you're interested in having your own items designed, we've love to hear from you.

OUR DEMOGRAPHIC:
We sell worldwide, with the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands and France being some of our biggest audiences. We have a fairly even split of men and women, with a majority demographic of 18-34.

OUR AIMS:
Our website has only been live for about a year, so we're still in the early stages of our business, but we are continuously looking to reach new audiences through a range of marketing techniques. We understand that influencer marketing could be a huge asset to our brand, and are looking for the correct people to help us drive traffic to our website and to help us grow our audience, resulting in sales of our products.
