The Magic Reading Game is a fantastic board game for the very young to learn to read through play. For 1 to 7 year olds, the game doesn't feature dice or other small choking parts. Flash cards with a variety of words and short sentences picked from the pile replace the need for dice.
For counters, the child is encouraged to find suitable objects from their toy collection, giving them instant ownership and control of the game.
The game can be played sitting quietly or hopping around the room, it doesn't matter. The important thing is the child is exposed to printed words that they will remember after only playing a handful of times.
The child doesn't need to say the words aloud or to be tested. Simply pick up a card, show it to the child and say the word(s). He or she will read and say the words in their own time.
Other games on the market do not include printed words (especially for toddlers) but what a waste! At that age, a child's brain is like a sponge. Just think, everyone teaches themselves a language or two by the age of two!
This simple, fun and colourful game will begin your child's journey on the road to the magic of reading throughout childhood and beyond!
