Founded in 2017, Teatergent aims to reinvent dishwasher detergents and change people’s life one step at a time. Founder Joshua Chao got the inspiration from his own family since he was a kid. His mom replaced chemical detergent by tea-seed powder for dishwashing, simply because it doesn't cause her skin allergy. Years later, Chao learnt Tea-seed powder is actually the byproduct of producing Camellia oil, a high-quality edible plant oil similar to Olive oil. Just like the coffee grounds, tea-seed powder is usually the waste, due to low market demand. He immediately decided to re-design this food-grade, organic, nontoxic and eco-friendly detergent to make everybody benefits from it. After three years of research and development, the world's first organic tea-seed dishwasher detergent is born, and it's named Teatergent.
