About

Our mission is to sell only high quality safety products for dogs. In 2018 we refined our shop from Something Special Pet Supplies (selling all kinds of pet things) to Sit. Stay safe! with a much sharper focus. We also distinguish ourselves with fast, friendly customer service using email so that we're not limited to any particular business hours. Most orders are shipped from our Virginia location within 24 hours of being placed. Our goals are less profit-centered and more love-centered. We're in it for the dogs. (But we do want to grow, which is why we want to do a few influencer campaigns.)

Our product lines include reflective gear, rechargeable lighted gear, harnesses that make escaping difficult or impossible, proven car restraint harnesses, high quality life jackets, basket muzzles, "rescue me" signs and stickers.

Sit. Stay safe! was created in 2015 (under the name Something Special Pet Supplies) by Sharon Conger (human), Dave (also human), Ajax and Capri (retired racing greyhounds) and Sweetie Pie (a sugar cookie wrapped in a cat suit). Sharon served on the board of directors with two dog rescue and adoption non-profits for over ten years. Our family continues to volunteer and occasionally foster dogs and wholeheartedly endorse pet rescue and adoption. We are located in lovely northern Virginia.

Sharon and Dave are both lifelong animal lovers and want to help promote the best care for them. We believe animals are family members in every sense, beloved and cherished. Our Ajax went to the Rainbow Bridge in 2016, taking a large chunk our our hearts with him. In 2017, we adopted Loki, a stunning black retired racer who keeps us laughing. Our Beloved Capri went to the Rainbow Bridge in January 2019 after a long life of love and happiness (she was almost 15).
