Nixxle is sustainable, handmade and customizable streetwear, swimwear and sneakers.

All our lives we've been surfing, skating, riding, climbing and doing anything else that gets us outside, whether it was in the backcountry or downtown in the city.

We live in sneakers, hoodies and t's but we wanted some stuff that wasn't just in basic and bland colors or mass market prints like everyone else was wearing. And we weren't gonna drop $600 on some fancy designer hoodie either. We wanted pieces that were reasonably priced, super comfortable, and would get noticed. Turned out that wasn't so easy to find.

So we started thinking about making our own brand... we could design just the stuff that we wanted to wear. And if we loved it we hoped some other people would dig it too.

But starting a clothing brand is scary. Factories require minimum orders that can put brands into massive debt before they even have a single sale. And factory lead times as long as 6 months can make the products feel old before even getting them in stores. That combination makes it nearly impossible to get a brand off the ground no matter how cool the designs are.

And the clothing industry is one of the most environmentally damaging industries on the planet. Sure, organic farming, recycled fabrics, natural dyes and other technologies are cleaning things up. But what is often forgotten is that the most damaging aspect of the clothing industry is actually the massive amount of unsold inventory that ends up in landfills, or even burned, every year.

We thought there had to be a better way.

If pre-ordering stock is the problem, then the solution is to not hold any stock at all. What if we make every item only when the customer orders it? No more unsold inventory that can end up in landfill. What if we make our own fabrics by taking advantage of direct to textile printing technology? Well now we can create new designs as quick as we can think them up. Not only that, now our customers can customize the prints, patterns and colors of any item in our store.

Hey, that's actually a pretty cool idea!

By making our products one at a time and only when you order them we have created a win-win situation for both our customers and our bottom line. You win because you get high quality, handmade products that can be customized for a reasonable price. We win because we have eliminated the biggest problem with creating a healthy clothing brand.... unsold stock.

We just wanted to make cool sneakers, hoodies, and t's that we love and want to wear every day. Along the way we discovered a new way of doing business too.
