We intend to provide the most reliable, the most intelligent, and the most visually outstanding suite of screenplay consultancy services on the market, all at a seriously competitive price.

Our small team of readers all write coverage for some of Europe’s largest production companies, including two Oscar-winning firms: Blueprint Pictures and Beta Film. Plucked from a range of backgrounds covering literary agency, production, and television development, every reader in our current pool has a literary degree either from an Ivy League university in the US, or Oxford and Cambridge in the UK. We know that this doesn’t guarantee quality output (in fact we all studied alongside some horrendous dolts, for want of a better phrase), but it does ensure a base level of intelligence and aptitude from the reader you trust with your creative work.

We understand the tastes of UK and European filmmakers particularly well. Not all tastes are accommodated by the Hollywood screenwriting paradigm (apologies to you, Blake Snyder), and ScriptUp should be the first port of call for writers wishing to develop an image-lead, European Auteur brand of screenwriting. Our readers are able to provide advice on the subtleties of symbolism, imagery and character-driven writing in ways that other coverage services cannot.

One further point where we differentiate ourselves from other services is the inclusion of a synopsis in a script report. Our own experience - and feedback that we’ve received from the screenwriting community - tells us that hiring a reader to summarise inaccurately the key beats of your plot is not helpful, and is largely used to fill word counts. Our equivalent analysis focuses on the premise of your script: its key conflicts, stakes, believability, predictability and continuity. We provide actionable advice on all of these elements, rather than faintly echoing a story back to its writer.
