Bio

Here I am, a 71-year-old man in my second retirement trying to write stories people might like. :older_man:

My first retirement from the U.S. Army came in 1991 after spending over 20 years as a member of the Army Security Agency. I traveled the globe listening to the communications of our enemies and stealing their secrets.
My second was from another 20 years as a computer network engineer, a less exciting profession than my first career.

Now, in my second retirement, I spend my time reading, camping, playing with my grandkids, and trying my hand at becoming an author. Finding the courage to write a story and then submitting the work to someone review (essentially giving it a grade) is hard. It takes as much courage as anything I have ever done.

I have competed two books. The first, Secret Warriors, Psychic Spies, looks like science fiction, smells like it too, but it is a true story of the U.S. Army's experiment in psychic warfare.

The story recounts a remarkable journey into alternate states of consciousness.
There other realities and other beings just outside the reach of our normal senses. Places that can only be reached in altered states of consciousness.
I know this is true. I found such places. Visited them and mapped their landscapes while undergoing top-secret training conducted by the U.S. Military.
I was part of the Center Lane Project. Once, it was one of the gateways into the CIA's Stargate Program.

My second book, Strange Stories, is a compilation of short stories. Within these nine stories, taken from dreams and nightmares, you will find strange, sometimes troubling, landscapes, paranormal powers, impossible ideas, and devastating futures. :astonished:

The stories have accumulated several Honorable Mentions, Silver Honorable Mentions and at least one Finalist rating in contests sponsored by such publications as Writers of the Future and Glimmer Train.
