Bio

Robin Schroffel is a travel writer and musician based in Vancouver, Canada. Since landing her first major writing gig – a long-running music column for a major daily newspaper – in 2003, her work has focused on travel, lifestyle and entertainment, and has been published by Forbes Travel Guide, CAA Insider and Alberta Venture, among others.

As bass player in two touring bands, in 2017 music took her across Canada, to Europe, and down the West Coast of the United States to perform at events including the Desert Daze festival in Joshua Tree, California. For 2018 she currently has dates booked in Europe, Canada and the U.S.

Beyond her music commitments, Robin travels frequently and documents her journeys via photography on Instagram and through her offbeat travel-focused blog, Quit This Town. She is drawn to the unusual, and looks at not only the little-known, undiscovered, and ‘locals-only’ places and experiences, but also views the typical travel destinations from a different perspective.

Her followers come from a broad cross-section of society that includes musicians, artists and DJs, as well as everyday travelers, hipsters, and music fans that appreciate her authenticity, style and taste, often taking action on her recommendations. Robin’s influence transcends categories – from travel, to style and beauty, to music.

A coffee addict and record collector who appreciates all things vintage, Robin has a fondness for luxury goods, services and experiences, but a positive attitude and easygoing nature that allows her to move from bare-bones desert camping to five-star hotel suites while barely batting an eye.
