I have been fighting math anxiety for over 25 years. There is no such thing as a math gene, anyone can learn math. Math is a language, so if you could learn to talk when you were a baby, you can learn math. I love to hear the tone of a person's voice when they suddenly get it. Almost everyone likes to solve puzzles and mazes when they are a kid. There is no pressure to get it right, and no penalty for getting it wrong. But suddenly when you go to school, the pressure is there and the penalty for getting it wrong is not only to fail, but to look dumb in front of your friends. That sucks !
I don't grade you or judge you if you don't understand something. I just find out what you don't know and help you to understand it.
Before the pandemic, I had dabbled in online tutoring and most of my sessions were in person. But for the last year, I have been all online and I keep learning and getting better at it. By now, my online tutoring is as effective as my in person tutoring.
My social media presence is just starting. My website is 15 years old. I plan to upgrade it this summer. I just started a Twitter account ( @4mathelp ) and even more recently started and Intagram.( also 4mathelp) Almost nothing on the Instagram, but that will change soon.
