Bio

Hi there!
I'm Tamika, from Chitown Vegan. Before eating plant-based, I was sick and tired - literally! I constantly battled sinus infections, allergies and asthma. Slowly but surely, I was gaining weight eating the Standard American Diet. I knew it was time to put my health first, so I decided to try out a plant-based vegan diet.

Since then, I have lost 30+ lbs and no longer suffer from asthma! I also discovered a new love for cooking and sharing all of my vegan-friendly finds. After experiencing all of the benefits of this lifestyle from the inside-out, I started Chitown Vegan to share recipes, Chicagoland vegan-friendly eateries and events.

Outside of my plant-based vegan lifestyle, I am a wife, mom, entrepreneur and author! I own Standout Style Boutique (@shopstandout) and when I am not working, I am probably spending time with family/friends, walking my dogs, working out or watering my plant children.
