The difference between them and us is… that we’re not in the game for the money we just want our stories to be heard across the world. Ctown’s superior lyricism and swag are two attributes that many rap group’s lack. However, for Florida hip-hop duo, CTown and Killa B, it appears to come as easy as breathing. Ctown started rapping at the age of 19 and was given his name from being the hardest, most persistent artist in Crestview. Killa B began his rap venture at the age of 14. Every time locals heard a freestyle or song by the young artist, they would say “you killed that beat”. Eventually, the locals started calling him Killa B.When the two formed the group, New Skool Classmates, they became one of the most successful indie groups in the northwest Florida area.
Their style can be described as having east coast lyricism with a blend of down south swag. They built their buzz from years of consistent hard-work. They’ve networked with nearly every serious musician in the area and are still building upon that foundation. New Skool Classmates have been a group since 2008 with their first release Titled “Class In Session Vol.1” which caught them a local buzz. A couple years and a couple mixtapes later the duo has come along way with their last release “No Looking Back” Hosted by DJ Pop which includes fan-favored tracks Tell’em Boyz I Mean It, Pain, and Reggie which went viral on YouTube. CTown and Killa B share common musical influences, which includes: 2pac, Nas, Jadakiss, Diddy, and N.W.A to name a few.
New Skool Classmates have worked with several established artists, including: Mike Jones, MP, Papaduck , Lil Wyte & Zaytoven. The group is currently working on their upcoming mixtape Titled “Grinding Skool Association Vol.1” Hosted By Coalition Dj Funky which Includes their new single “Yeah Yeah” which was Featured on WorldStarHipHop.com.
