About
After studying fashion design in London at UEL, I sought further inspiration by travelling and discovering artisan techniques and aesthetics particular to traditional cultures. In this way, Miera Marie Crochet was born in the North East region of Brazil, Jericoacoara. Where I fell in love with the traditional handicrafts, in particular the wonderful crochet created by groups of old ladies chatting on their verandas. I got to know the skilled, lovely women behind these creations; their love of crochet and how it has been passed down generations. I gave them my own designs to crochet and I am thrilled with the results.
In an industry plagued by exploitation, our brand is proudly ethical and sustainable using the finest cottons and all makers are paid fairly. Each piece is created by a skilled artisan in the comfort of their home.
All pieces are special, but some are even more so, as there was only one made. Watch out for this in listings!
