Bio

I am an award winning artist, working from my studio in the San Francisco Bay, creating highly textured Deep Impasto™ landscapes, cityscapes, florals, and seascapes using oil paint and palette knives.

As a full time professional artist, my vision with my art is clear:
To share my gift, and to spread joy and connection with my happy paintings.

My art is uplifting, lively, and fun. When one of my collectors emails me and tells me they cried when they received their painting, or that it lifts their heart every time they look at it, it touches my heart too, and makes me feel connected and grateful, and that’s my main inspiration.

On another level, I’m also particularly inspired by my love of the diversity of California, which shares many geographical similarities with my nation of birth; New Zealand.
I work almost exclusively with palette and painting knives, which gives my art a unique look and a tactile, almost edible feel. The thick texture achieved with the knife creates ridges, dips and shadows, which reflect the light more than a regular brush painting. This gives my art an amazing sense of dimension and movement.

I have many avenues with my art and my brand. My main being my website, and Instagram a close second.

I am sponsored by the largest art distributor in the USA, and often attend events around the US demonstrating my art with them, as well as promoting their products on my social media.

I also have collaborations with vineyards here in the San Francisco Bay, and am partnering with one to produce wine labels for their 2017 artist series vintage.

In 2019 I am launching an ebook, and then an online class to teach my technique of Deep Impasto™ oil painting.

I am also writing a book about my success as a creative, and how to monetize art in general.
