Are you tired of staring at blank walls?
Are you tired of staring at boring stuff on your walls?
What would it feel like to have an innovative western landscape painting on your wall that takes you on an exciting visual journey?
A great piece of art is a great way to get a conversation started or create a mood. Perhaps you want something that reminds you of a place or event in your life or you can’t find artwork that matches your decor in the style that you like.
Or are you looking for a unique gift for a special person? Why not give them an original artwork?
I am here to help. If you don’t find a painting to fall in love with on my website, I do offer commissions. I do in-home consultations in the Tucson area. I would love to meet you in person or by video-call. I also have giclee prints available if you are on a limited budget.
I have always had a desire to express my creativity through visual art.
I love nature. I love the western landscape, especially the unique Sonoran Desert where I live. From dramatic dawn to surreal sunset, from bubbling blue brook to soaring red cliff, from scrub bush to saguaro, from aspen glow to blue spruce, there is drama everywhere in the American west.
I find my inspiration in the created world but it is just a starting point on the journey of creating art. I am excited to find the inner essence of a place or a moment in time and then apply my own emotions. It is exciting to see the right shapes, colors and values come together. Each element in a painting (a shape with value and color) is like a note in music. In a pleasing musical composition, there are just the right number and type of notes in the right arrangement.
I want the value pattern to be strong enough to attract interest from a distance and I want the quality of the painted surface and the more subtle nuances of color and value to be intriguing when viewed up-close. I achieve this with a multilayered approach that is related to my background in watercolor and pastel painting.
