About KC Crew Sport & Events
KC Crew has been creating, managing and growing sports leagues in downtown Kansas City since 2012. The first year, KC Crew rented 1 softball field and 1 sand volleyball court from Kansas City Missouri Parks and Rec near downtown KC and told some friends. By the end of the first year KC Crew had almost 800 participants. The next two years KC Crew had around 32% growth.
In 2015, KC Crew and KCMO Parks and Rec formed a partnership through an Memorandum of Understanding agreement to help activate more parks in the area which led to the leagues growing by 53%, to over 3,600 participants in 2015.
KC Crew’s partnership with KCMO Parks and Rec helped solidify a partnership with Port KC, a political subdivision of the State of Missouri granted broad governmental and business enterprise powers for the purpose of promoting economic development and job creation, to build 6 sand volleyball courts in 2016 at Berkley Riverfront Park to help bring activity to the riverfront.
Via social media and email marketing along with the launch of the Port KC Sand Volleyball Courts, as well as adding more sports and activities for new participants, KC Crew grew to over 9,600 participants in 2017 solely in downtown Kansas City, it’s 6th year of business.
KC Crew recently partnered with the City of Overland Park to take over management it’s existing leagues and add more options for it’s residents with the launch of KC Crew South. KC Crew is also working with Foutch Bros. on the redevelopment of Kemper Area into an amatuer sports complex.
