Bio

My name is Giggy, Jersey Giggy! My humans found out how special I am on a cold January day in 2015 when my human father suffered a massive heart attack while shoveling snow. He did not realize he was suffering from a heart attack and he went inside to try and sleep the pain away. I sensed that something was very wrong and decided that I would not let him go to sleep. To keep him awake I kept wooooofing at him and pawing his face. Finally, my human decided to get up and call his son for help. His son determined that something was seriously wrong and called 911. The ambulance came a short while later. Unfortunately, I did not get to ride to the ER with my humans but later I found out that my human father suffered a heart attack in the left anterior descending artery (LAD) also known as the “Widow maker.” Victims of this heart attack only live about ten percent of the time, hence the nickname. My human stayed strong and pulled through and is thankfully alive today to tell his story. The Doctors credited me for keeping him awake because if he would have gone to sleep, he would not have woken back up. After this day my humans decided to register me as a service dog because of my ability to sense high blood pressure. When I sense high blood pressure I get very cuddly with my humans and this causes a sense of relaxation for my humans. Aside from being able to sense BP issues, I also have the ability to become the center of attention anywhere I go with out trying. Countless amounts of people have stopped my humans just so they can take pictures with me. In fact, my humans have even been offered money to take pictures with me but we politely decline the money. I am going to be working with my brother at his college to help with the special olympics for special needs children soon. I also want to help people who suffer from depression and other disorders. I do this by just being myself. I am a laid back, calm puppy that just loves to be cuddly. I have the ability to make even the angriest person smile once they see me.
