I'm a divorce councilor based in the North East UK. I've just had an article published about divorcing a narcissist. It's an emotionally taxing process. Divorcing a narcissist usually presents unique obstacles that make it seem like an insurmountable wall to overcome, in contrast to a traditional breakup where the pair can find common ground and move on with their lives. Any part of a case, from the first contact to the court procedures, can become convoluted when narcissistic traits like manipulating, not comprehending, and attempting to exert control are present.
