After finding myself whilst fighting with a mental health issue for roughly 6 years - which is now finally stable - I have managed to keep my CV fresh with transferable paid employment, internships and volunteering.
After my time spent at Sue Ryder, and always having a fascination with shopping in vintage and charity shops (I love the hunt for a bargain), I took it upon myself to plan and eventually launch ‘Crayonista Boutique’ in December 2017, as an experimental initiative to help learn fashion ecommerce business and to raise funds for Mind, UK charity!

My statistics and sales from this recycle/reuse Etsy Boutique, showcase’s that 55% conversion of prospective customers are exploring my shop for a prolonged period of time, and this figure has been steady for the past 6 months. In total I have made 17 sales and made £140 profit. Which I plan on donating 25% of each sale back to Mind, UK.
My perspective within the innovation world is that it’s all about thinking like an entrepreneur, in order to propel the company into the future.
Innovation is taking something which already exists, changing it slightly, making something new from it, whether it’s a product/service or process based business model. In today’s connected world everybody is looking to save customers time and energy when it comes to developing new products/services & processes. Customer considerations include; a quick delivery system set up in place, they want instant satisfaction, they want a sense of interactivity with technology and cool novelty experiences to share on Instagram or talk to their friends about (viral).
Ultimately, innovation design is a tool to aid customers satisfaction, whether that be for the purpose of making something easier/quicker/clued up and/or more enjoyable, by solving business challenges.
Industries I believe that will thrive within the next 20 to 40 years will be; meditation, bio-health, sustainable fashion rental apps, ‘phygital’ : digital technology incorporated within the retail environment, energy-efficient products & smart homes.
