Theater Extras is a web-based business that assists theaters and other venues in putting people in seats on short notice, what is known as “papering the house.”
Here’s how it works: Members pay only $99 per year to join the site for a 2 ticket plan ($175 for the 4 ticket plan) and then have access to a service that offers hundreds of performing arts events to choose from at the nominal processing fee of $4.50 per ticket, of which a portion are donated to Broadway Cares, Equity Fights AIDS. Hence, for the cost of one theater ticket, members have access to the performing arts for one whole year! That’s 365 days of theater, concerts, comedy, cabaret, dance, screenings, tapings, lectures, children’s events, sporting events, and more. But with a service such as Theater Extras, members can use the site only one or two times per year and still see great value for the dues they pay.
Since Theater Extras is operates in New York and Los Angeles, members have another great benefit: one membership gives them access to the performing arts on two coasts…so whether traveling for business or pleasure, members can take advantage of their Theater Extras membership to enjoy the performing arts in New York AND Los Angeles. And Theater Extras has plans to launch in other cities in the future, giving members even more opportunities to enjoy the performing arts.
