I am a Colorado Springs-based photographer specializing in Child, Family, and Pets.

My passion for photography began in my youth while volunteering and managing the “adoptable pets” website and weekly newspaper articles for our city animal shelter. I noticed a massive positive correlation in photo quality of an adoptable pet and inquiries and/or shelter visits to see that animal, leading to me taking entry level photography courses that enabled me to better capture the personalities of these animals and increase their adoption chances. Thus, my first photographic passion, pet photography was born.

With the birth of my son, conquering my fear of capturing human subjects was next. Humans, especially as we get older, can be so hard on ourselves. Standing behind the lens, I wanted to create photos that allowed people to look past any imperfections and instead see the beauty and uniqueness of themselves or their families. This remains my goal in each and every one of my shoots.

Photographing people allows me a glimpse into the unique personalities of the many people that call this area home and allows me to help them capture a moment in time that may otherwise be forgotten years down the road. It’s a way to freeze time, just for a bit, and truly enjoy the present. We live in a gorgeous state and I love getting to explore all that it has to offer to create a collaborative photo story with my clients.
