ChatKazam has created an app that pleasantly captures the features of Instagram and Snapchat and puts them in an easy to use interface. This app is sure to compliment your Instagram account and you are going to find yourself using it more and more as you discover its cool features and versatility. What I really like about the app is it is a full featured chatting, phone and social media app with custom emoji’s, group chats, the ability to attach not only snaps but all types of documents from word files to pdf’s to downloaded images. And the chat features link seamlessly to the posting features of ChatKazam’s What’s Happening board. You can fly back and forth between chats and posting without losing a beat. And while the chat is awesome you will want to take advantage of the social media vibe of the What’s Happening board.
Unlike other social media apps, Chatkazam is location centric. Here’s how it works, Chatkazam uses your phones GPS to locate you and make posts. What that means is that when you are in your home town Chatkazam makes posts that all your friends and the people following you will see but also anybody that is in your hometown will see if they slide over to the current location section. Chatkazam wants to encourage people to post things about the town the live in or are visiting, to share about cool happenings in and around your neighborhoods. It’s a great idea. For example, I can select any city in the US and presto, the What’s Happening board will show me all the posts made by people in that city even if I don’t follow them.
I thought this was really cool when I went on a trip and wanted to see what the locals were posting. And by the way, local businesses near you offer cool specials for you to use. The mapping function will even direct you to any place you want to check out.
The What’s Happening Board also lets you follow an unlimited amount of people. You can even see who is following the people you are following and follow them! It’s very cool and easy. You can search for posts by hashtag, people’s name, their city, even look for words in their posts. You can post video (15 seconds max for now) pics, and just text if you want to. The What’s Happening board has custom stickers for you to attach to your pics, and many of them you won’t find anywhere else.
Another cool thing is all the posts and pics from the What’s Happening board are sorted by the most recent posts on top. No goofy algorithms, just simple ordering. One of my complaints with other apps is not being able to find the current stuff - Chatkazam delivers that and it’s refreshing. It means that no matter where I go on the What’s Happening board I will get the new stuff first. You can filter it later if you want but it’s really nice not to have to do that when I want to check out a new town and see what’s going on there or check out what my friends are doing.
You can even send your posts and pics direct to Facebook, Instagram or any other account or email system you have on your phone.
You are going to like this app and its slick interface. There’s tons more in this app to like; download it and use it a while. One of the first things you are going to want to do after downloading is inviting all your friends. It’s easy to do and you can track who has accepted and who you need to respond to.
Get it, it’s fun and free. I think it’s the next big thing.
