The story of Joe Ferreira actually begins in the 1980s, when his parents decided to migrate from the interior of the state of Ceará to Rio de Janeiro in the search of better job opportunities. With limited resources, they spent years living where they could, and it was between the moving from one project to another in the outskirts of the city that Joe was born and raised. Living in a hostile environment often dominated by drug traffic. His mother, Maria, put her efforts into keeping her son busy with activities offered in social projects. At the age of 4, through a scholarship Joe began to study martial arts and since then began his work with the body.
