Questions about getting started in influencer marketing for either influencers or businesses
Hi, so I'm not new to influencer marketing, but I do have a product that doesn't tend to be in a popular niche; lgbtq+ sci-fi books...which has made this difficult.
It's one thing to craft a campaign for makeup/clothes, it's another thing entirely to ask an Influencer's earned audience to spend the time reading a trilogy 😅
However, even if I want to work with someone because I think it's a solid brand-fit, I ask for ROI and I rarely get that data—but that's actually the most important metric.
If a post gets 300 likes and 1000s of eyeballs, cool, but if it results in little to no sales...then that isn't sustainable.
So...why don't many Influencers provide ROI stats?
From experience, influencers don’t see that data. If you think about it: a brand send a tracking link to an influencer to post. The only people with the results of that data is the brand and they don’t share that information with influencers generally. So it’s not that influencers don’t want to share the data, many just don’t have it.
