EVERYTHING IS WONDERFUL is the first movie produced by W FILMPRODUCTIONS, a female-run, independent film production company. Our vision is to create high quality, thought provoking, entertaining films that appeal to a wide audience and that can help push borders and boundaries, as well as overcome stereotypical roles for women.
EVERYTHING IS WONDERFUL, a delightful new slice-of-life female comedy – coming to Digital, DVD and VOD, beginning October 16th. The dramatic comedy tells the story of a strong friendship between two European women, Maria (Tonia Sotiropoulou, Skyfall) and Lena (writer/director Pia Mechler, upcoming features The Upside, Willenberger and TV’s Devils), during one intense summer week in New York City. Maria is a former Greek soap opera star who is disillusioned with her dream of becoming an actress in New York and Lena (Mechler) has just discovered her husband is cheating. When the two decide to change their lives and find some different meaning, after a crazy week partying and dealing with outside pressures in their quest to have “normal” lives and find “steady” relationships, their story takes a surprising turn.
