Human Resource Management experience was with Manufacturing plants in Nissan SA, working from within the main plant with approximately 5500 employees. Responsible for the whole Staffing/Recruitment function, Labour Relations, Management Development and Succession planning.
In Corporate Marketing experience with Nissan SA, he was mainly tasked to look after a number of the Rural Dealers in Mpumalanga, and then promoted to the bigger Metropolitan Dealers in Gauteng, monitor their financial status as per their monthly submissions, assisting with Marketing Plans to increase Sales on New and Used Vehicles, Parts & Accessory Sales and Workshop sales & improve marketing penetration and Customer Satisfaction in specific areas.
It was decided to run his own business at age 35. This was a challenge especially in the changing Political times moving from Apartheid to an integrated Political freedom of one man-one vote, allowing Political rights to all.
The times in which he ran his own business, can be earmarked as continued times of change, both in Political & Economic terms. Steve was out of the Corporate world in his own ventures and was given an opportunity at Brits Auto as Sales Executive Used in August 2014, then a month later moved to Nissan New and 3 weeks later Steve was successful in his appointment as Brits Nissan Sales Manager, and he was subsequently promoted to the position of General Manager: Used Vehicle Sales for Ford; Nissan & Quality Approved. Nissan SA, did a full Aptitude & Personality test through Sewells, prior to appointment as Brits Nissan Sales Manager & the match was perfect.
