Hello,
My name is Heather and I'm the sole proprietor of my online business, Prima Towels (http://primatowels.com) selling deliciously soft 100% Turkish cotton towels. So much more than a towel, they are lightweight, quick drying, compact and multi functional. Making them the perfect travel essential.
My business is currently funded entirely on my own, and so far I'm rocking it! I'm also a mother to my ten year old daughter, Shylah and she is my heart and my world.
Many people have been asking me how I came up with the idea for my business? To sum it up briefly, I would start by saying that it's a good thing that the love of my life travels with a notepad and pen!
We were on the beautiful island of Isla Mujeres, Mexico last April, at my favorite little Bed and Breakfast, Casa Sirena. As soon as you walk through the doors of the restored hacienda, it's very apparent that the Inn Keeper, Steve, has impeccable taste. Every detail and aspect of this place is perfection.
In each room there is a canvas beach tote and two Turkish towels for guests to borrow during their stay. let's just say that it was love at first sight!
I, apparently, wasn't the only one smitten with these towels. The other female guests were gushing over them as well! I was happy for my love to see that I wasn't the only one who was slightly obsessed!
We checked out of Casa Sirena and it was on to our next hotel...but man, I couldn't get my mind off of those towels. I snatched up the notebook and pen and began to write down some ideas.
Fast forward to being back at home, in cold and wet Michigan, in that post vacation depression that we so often slip into. I contacted Casa Sirena to inquire about the towels. Where could I order them from, etc?
As I began my search, I knew that this was a business idea that might actually stick...my dog walking business was cast aside and Prima Towels was launched four months after that intoxicating and inspiring trip to Mexico.
Due to the fact that Prima Towels is funded on my own, I'm looking to influencers and creative marketing to organically grow my business.
I've been doing Pop Up shops locally and have received immense support and feedback from my delightful towels and it's inspiring me to just keep being me, and to keep doing what I'm doing!!
